I’m sure a lot of seasoned cooks forego the recipe book when it comes to the free wheeling style of guacamole. I, on the other hand, have found an immense pleasure in coming across all the minute differences which set guacamole recipes apart. Left to my own devices, I am perfectly capable whipping together a tasty guac but what I love about recipes like this one, is that they allow me to approach familiar objects from a new perspective. Surprisingly, not a hint of lime or lemon juice finds itself mixed into the pot in this ‘northern’ style guacamole and yet the end result is still incredibly bright and fresh, due to the green tomatoes and serrano chiles. If you have never added green tomatoes to your guac, do yourself a favor and start right now.
6 canned Mexican green tomatoes
1/2 small white onion, minced
1/2 tbsp coriander, chopped
2-3 canned serrano chiles, chopped
- Add ingredients to together in a mixing bowl and mash to desired consistency.
