Senor Pico Red Enchilada Sauce


1 onion chopped
1 cloves of garlic minced
1 tbsp vegetable oil
4 cups chicken broth
3 tbsp Mexican chili powder
1/2 cup flour
1 tbsp salt
1 can chili sauce


Saute onions and garlic. Make a paste with chili powder, flour, salt, chili sauce and a little bit of oil. Add to onions. Slowly integrate broth into sauce, whisking constantly until finished. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.
