The ‘Oahu Gin Sling,’ originally featured in Playboy Magazine circa 1970s is a wonderfully bubbly concoction that blends gin, lime juice and creme de cassis for a refreshing yet complex tropical-styled drink. Credited to Thomas Mario (aka Sidney Aptekar) the food and drink editor at Playboy Magazine during its golden age. He published a series of cook books through the Playboy imprint which I will definitely be reviewing in the future, have no fear!
1 oz lime juice
1/2 oz creme de cassis
1/2 oz Benedictine
1 tsp simple syrup
2 oz Gin
3 oz Club Soda
- Combine all ingredients except for the soda in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously with ice.
- Add soda and stir. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
